Motorcycle towing in Brisbane

Bike stopped, dropped or not going anywhere? Call. Motorcycle towing across Brisbane, answered any hour, carried inside an enclosed van rather than dragged or strapped to an open trailer.

Call first, quote second · 24/7 · Crashed bikes and non-runners · Enclosed, not a flatbed

While you wait

  1. Get yourself off the road first — behind a barrier or well up the verge, not standing next to the bike.
  2. Leave the hazards on if the bike still has power.
  3. Send a dropped pin. On a motorway, "just past the exit" is not a location. The pin is.
  4. Tell us whether it rolls and steers, and whether it has been down. That decides what we bring.
  5. Have an address for it to go to — your place or a workshop. If you have not decided, say so and we will work it out with you.

Towing a bike is not towing a car

A motorcycle does not want to be dragged and it does not want to sit out in the open with a strap over the tank. Ours goes inside the van, front wheel into a chock and strapped down from there, out of the weather and out of sight of everyone in the traffic behind you.

Most Brisbane call-outs are one of four things: it will not start, it will not stay running, something has broken that cannot be ridden on, or it has gone down. All four end the same way — the bike has to be somewhere else and it is not getting there on its own wheels.

The awkward ones are the roads you cannot stop on. The Riverside Expressway, the tunnels, the Gateway and the Inner City Bypass have no useful shoulder, and the M1 through the southside is worse at five in the afternoon than at midnight. Tell us exactly where you are and which direction you were heading — direction matters more than people expect, because half of those roads cannot be turned around on.

If the bike is damaged rather than simply stopped, say so on the phone. A bike that has been down may have fluid on the ground, bars that will not steer and a front wheel that will not roll straight, and all of that changes how it gets loaded.

Capacity

Two bikes, one recovery

Two bikes fit in a van, and there are two vans.

Each van takes two bikes chocked and strapped side by side, and with both out that is four. On a recovery that matters whenever more than one bike is stuck — and in the city that happens more often in garages and car parks than it does on the road.

The bike and everything that came off it

A bike that has gone down usually arrives with a pile beside it. Mirrors, levers, a screen, a pannier lid. It all comes with the bike rather than being left in the gutter.

A basement is still a recovery

A dead bike in an apartment or workplace car park has to come up the ramp before anything else happens. Two in the same building is one visit.

Two in the same garage, both off the road

One that will not start and one that has not started since 2019, both going to the same mechanic. They travel together and get quoted together.

In on the truck, back on the truck

Unregistered or not running means it cannot get to the workshop and cannot get home afterwards either. Both legs are the same job.

Why people book

What we get called out to in Brisbane

The calls that come in most, day and night.

It will not start and you are a long way from home

Flat battery, a fuel pump that has given up, a rectifier that cooked itself in traffic. The diagnosis can wait. Getting the bike off a Brisbane street cannot.

You have come off

If the bike has gone down and you are alright, the bike is the easy part. We will load one that will not steer, will not roll straight or has a snapped lever, and take it wherever you need it — home, a repairer or an assessor.

It broke where you cannot stop

The tunnels, the Riverside Expressway, the Gateway, the Inner City Bypass. Get yourself safe, send the pin, and tell us the direction of travel.

It is stuck in a car park you cannot get it out of

Shopping centre basements, work car parks, apartment buildings. A dead bike in a basement is a recovery job even though it has not moved an inch.

It has been sitting for years and now it has to move

Deceased estates, house sales, a landlord who wants the shed cleared. It does not start, the tyres are flat and the brakes have seized on. We will still load it.

A workshop needs it and it cannot get there

Unregistered, no roadworthy, or simply not running. We take it in and bring it back when the work is done.

Destinations

Where we take it

A tow is only finished when the bike is somewhere useful. These are the usual ones.

Your garage

The default, and usually the right call at midnight. Off the road tonight, decisions in the morning.

A workshop or a mechanic

Yours, or whichever one can actually look at it this week. If they are shut when we collect, tell us and we will arrange the drop for when they open.

A repairer or an assessor

If the bike has been down and an insurer is involved, the leg from where it stopped to whoever needs to look at it is a transport job like any other.

A dealer

A trade-in that will not start, a warranty job that will not run, or a bike going back for a recall.

Storage you have arranged

If you have somewhere for it to sit while you sort the rest out, we will put it there.

Straight to the next owner

Sold as-is and not running. We collect it and deliver it, and neither party has to work out how.

How far we run

  • Anywhere in the Brisbane City Council area
  • The M1, the Gateway, the Bruce, the Ipswich Motorway and the Centenary
  • The tunnels and the Riverside Expressway
  • South to Logan and Beenleigh
  • North to North Lakes, Caboolture and the Sunshine Coast
  • West to Ipswich and out to Toowoomba
Regular runs

Where the Brisbane call-outs come from

Not scenic routes. These are the places a bike actually stops.

The Gateway and the bridge approaches→Home or a workshop

Six lanes, traffic that is not slowing down for you, and a bridge that cannot be turned around on. Direction of travel is the first thing we ask.

The M1 south of the river→Anywhere in Brisbane

Springwood up to the Gateway merge is where the southside calls come from. Bad at five in the afternoon and still busy at midnight.

The Bruce Highway north→Brisbane and the northside

Bald Hills up towards Caboolture, where the shoulder gets wider and the distance to anywhere useful gets longer.

Inner-city basements and car parks→Street level and out

A bike that will not start underground is still a recovery. The ramp and the height bar decide how we do it.

The Ipswich Motorway and the Centenary→West and back

Darra, Wacol and the Centenary merge. Short merge lanes, long roadworks and nowhere sensible to push a bike to.

A shed nobody has opened in years→A workshop or a new owner

Not a breakdown, but the same job: it does not run, it has to move, and nobody wants to push it.

On the road

Bikes we have picked up

Every one of these went in the same way, running or not.

Questions

Common questions

Are you really available 24/7?

Breakdown recovery is answered around the clock, yes. That is a call-out claim, not an office-hours claim — but if you ring at 2am about a bike on the side of the road, the phone gets answered.

How fast can you get to me?

It depends where you are and what is already on. You will be told on the phone roughly how long, and we will not say ten minutes if it is an hour. If you need to be somewhere, say so and you will get a straight answer about whether we are the right call.

Do you tow it, or carry it?

We carry it. The bike goes inside an enclosed van, front wheel chocked and strapped down, rather than being dragged along on its own wheels or sitting out on an open trailer in the rain.

My bike has been in a crash. Can you still move it?

Yes. Bent bars, a wheel that will not roll straight, a snapped lever, fluid on the ground — tell us on the phone what it looks like so we bring the right gear. Loose parts come with the bike.

Can you take it to my insurer repairer?

We can take it wherever you tell us. If your insurer has nominated a repairer or an assessment centre, give us the address and that is where it goes.

Is the bike insured while you have it?

Insured with NTI. Up to $150,000 accidental damage cover per load in transit, including loading and unloading. $30 million public liability. That is the cover for the bike on our van. What happens with your own policy after a crash is between you and your insurer — we move the bike.

What if the bike is in a basement car park?

Usually still doable. The ramp and the height bar decide whether the van goes down or the bike comes up first. Tell us the building when you call.

Can you collect if I cannot be there?

Yes, as long as someone can give us access or the bike is somewhere we can reach. Tell us how to get to it and where the key is if it needs one.

What do you need from me on the phone?

Where the bike is — a dropped pin beats a description every time on a motorway — which direction you were heading, whether it rolls and steers, whether it has been down, and where it is going.

Do you cover outside Brisbane?

Yes. Logan, Ipswich, the Redlands, the Sunshine Coast and out to Toowoomba. The further away you are the longer it takes, and you will be told that before you start waiting.

What does a tow cost?

It depends on where you are, where it is going and what state the bike is in. You get a number on the phone before we set off, not after we arrive.
