Logan is the short run from here

Beenleigh, Eagleby, Loganholme and Waterford are about as close as work gets for us. That matters most on the jobs where timing is the whole problem — a bike that has to reach a workshop before it closes, or stock that has to land before a weekend.

Logan is not one kind of address. Slacks Creek, Underwood, Meadowbrook, Berrinba and Crestmead are industrial: roller doors, forklifts, loading bays and somebody who wants the paperwork. Jimboomba, Greenbank, Munruben and Cedar Grove are acreage: long driveways, gravel, grids, gates and a shed at the far end. Park Ridge, Yarrabilba and Flagstone are new estates where the street is sometimes newer than the map on your phone.

Most of what moves here is trade work and project bikes. Trade-ins going one way and retail deliveries going the other, a dirt bike out to a property, something unregistered that has to get to a workshop and back again.

Two bikes go in a van and there are two vans, which is how a batch of three or four gets moved in a day instead of across a week. Everything is priced on the two addresses and the bike before it is booked.

Capacity

Three trade-ins is one job

Two bikes fit in a van, and there are two vans.

Each van is set up for two bikes, chocked and strapped side by side, and with both out that is four at once. In Logan that usually means a batch — stock going one way and trade-ins coming back the other — run as a single job with one price rather than four separate call-outs.

Trade-ins and retail stock

A batch collected from one site and dropped at another, or bikes going out to customers across Springwood, Browns Plains and Beenleigh on one loop.

Workshop shuttles

Two bikes into the same workshop and both back out when the work is done, on the same run in each direction.

Auction and salvage lots

Buy two or three in one sale and they come out together on the release. Unregistered and not running is the normal condition of auction stock rather than a complication.

The shed on the acreage

A road bike, a farm bike and something half built. We load what fits, tell you straight away what will not, and price the lot up front.

Why people book

Why Logan bookings come in

What people here are actually trying to solve when they call.

The driveway is four hundred metres of gravel

Jimboomba, Greenbank, Munruben, Stockleigh and Cedar Grove. A van on acreage is fine until it is wet, and a gravel descent with a loaded van is worse. Tell us what the driveway is like and we plan where the van stops.

It is a dirt bike that will never be registered

Plenty of Logan bikes are never going to have a plate because they never leave a property. Getting one to a mechanic, to a new owner or out to a mate's block is a transport job, not a registration problem.

The estate is newer than the maps

Yarrabilba, Flagstone, Logan Reserve and Park Ridge grow faster than the mapping does. If the street is new, send a dropped pin instead of an address and we will find it first time.

It is going into or out of an industrial unit

Crestmead, Berrinba, Slacks Creek, Underwood and Meadowbrook. Roller doors, forklifts and a bay that wants the delivery booked in. We turn up when we said and the bike goes inside rather than being left out the front.

You bought at auction and the yard wants it gone

Auction and clearance stock is usually unregistered, often has not run in months and almost always has a deadline on collection. We collect on the release and take it wherever it is going next.

You are stopped on the M1 or the Logan Motorway

There is nowhere good to stand on either of them. Breakdown recovery is answered around the clock — call, tell us which side and which direction you were heading, and we will come and get it.

Destinations

Where Logan jobs end up

Tell us who is taking delivery and we deal with them directly. Most of these do not need you standing there.

Industrial-estate workshops

Crestmead, Berrinba, Meadowbrook, Underwood and Slacks Creek. Roller-door addresses where the bike needs to end up inside, not parked out the front waiting for someone to notice it.

Dealers and trade-ins

Retail deliveries out to buyers and trade-ins coming back the other way, booked for a date and delivered enclosed.

Auction, salvage and clearance yards

Collected on the release with the paperwork sorted at the gate, and delivered wherever the bike is headed next.

Acreage and rural addresses

Sheds, carports and the back gate. We tell you where the van can realistically get to before the day rather than after it.

Private addresses in the new estates

Yarrabilba, Flagstone, Park Ridge and Logan Reserve, including streets that are newer than the mapping.

Freight depots and interstate handover

When the bike is going a long way past Logan, we get it to the depot in one piece, on time, with the paperwork it needs.

Regular runs

Logan runs we do most weeks

Logan is on the way to almost everything, which is why these come up so often.

Logan→Brisbane

Springwood and Underwood up into the city and out to the southside workshops. One of the shorter legs we run and a constant one.

Logan→Ipswich and the western corridor

Out through Browns Plains and Greenbank to Springfield, Goodna and Ipswich. A lot of these are bikes bought cheap and unregistered, which is exactly the trip that cannot be ridden.

Logan→Jimboomba and the Scenic Rim

Down the Mount Lindesay Highway to the acreage and the small towns behind it. Long driveways, gravel and gates, all worth mentioning when you book.

Logan→Redlands and the bay

Across through Carbrook and Cornubia to Capalaba, Cleveland and Victoria Point. Short, and entirely suburban road.

Logan→Toowoomba

Up the range past Gatton and Withcott. It is the descent that worries people coming back, not the distance going out.

On the road

Out of the vans, in Logan and everywhere else

Straight off the jobs — chocked at the front wheel and strapped before the doors close.

Questions

Common questions

Are you local to Logan?

Close enough that it makes no difference. Beenleigh, Eagleby and Loganholme are a few minutes away, and the far side of the city — Jimboomba, Greenbank — is still a short run.

Can you get a van down a gravel driveway?

Usually, and we would much rather know before we arrive. Wet gravel, a steep pinch or a low branch changes where we can safely stop with a loaded van. Describe it when you book and we will plan it.

Can you move an unregistered dirt bike?

Yes. Registration is not a condition of getting in the van. Unregistered road bikes, dirt bikes that have never had a plate and bikes that will not start are all normal work.

Can you move several bikes at once?

Two per van, two vans, four together. In Logan that is usually a batch of trade-ins or auction lots, which we quote as one job. Tell us how many and what they are.

Is the bike covered while it is on your van?

Insured with NTI. Up to $150,000 accidental damage cover per load in transit, including loading and unloading. $30 million public liability. Trade customers who need that in writing before they release stock can ask and we will send it through.

What does it cost from Logan?

The two addresses do most of the pricing, then whether the bike rolls and starts, then how hard each end is to get a van into. A Beenleigh to Loganholme run and a Jimboomba to Brisbane run are not the same job. Send the details and you will get a price for yours.

Can you collect from an auction yard?

Yes. Give us the lot details, the release and the yard address and we will collect it. Auction bikes are usually unregistered and often have not run in a while, which is what we are set up for.

Do you deliver into industrial units?

Yes, and the bike goes inside rather than being left in front of a roller door. If the site wants the delivery booked in, tell us and we will do that.

Do I have to be at the pickup?

No, as long as someone at the other end can receive it. A lot of Logan jobs are collected from a yard and delivered to a workshop without the owner leaving work.

Do you cover the new estates?

Yarrabilba, Flagstone, Logan Reserve and Park Ridge, yes. If the street is new enough that the map does not have it, send a dropped pin.

What about a breakdown at night?

Call. Breakdown recovery is answered 24/7. The M1 and the Logan Motorway are the two places we get called to most and neither is somewhere to sit and wait.
